Jorge, my friend, I know you're in heaven now, but you'll always be a kind thought away. I recall meeting you when I was just a dumb naive man filled with energy and ignorance. You become my lifetime friend that I've always cherished. There was always the comfort of knowing you were only a phone call away if I was ever in need. That's just the type of man you were, always willing to help. I remember meeting your wonderful family and you adopting the stray dog I found, it had Parvo when I got it, even though I told you no, you paid for its veterinary bills, I remember how important that dog had become to your family. It was a perfect fit. During the Christmas season, you would make sure that I got a Christmas tree for my family and taught me about the tradition of planting a tree when my daughter was born. We worked together from what? 1978 until the plant closed in 1992. You soon left for Baltimore, and I went to Indiana. But during those years, you taught me about everything from horse racing to politics. I learned life experiences through a different prism. That everything isn't what it appears to be. I still apply that education to much of my everyday life, it made me a more rounded kind human, a better father and grandpa. THANK YOU! I'm sorry we didn't take advantage of the time we had back in California to go to breakfast, the track, or just have coffee and reminisce... But I know that life is fast, we grow, our families expand, and time flies by. I will miss you my dear friend, I love you and pray we will someday get that cup of coffee together.
