Charles "Charlie" T. Roberts' Obituary
Charles T. Roberts, “Charlie” to all that knew him, passed away peacefully and surrounded with love at home on October 14, 2025. Charlie had an amazing life and always had a smile for anyone he met. He often remarked that happiness was a choice, and he chose to be happy.
Charlie was born to Carlos and Marie Toral in Panama City, Panama in 1933. He later immigrated to the USA and settled in Glendale, CA. He was a career Seabee in the Navy which enabled him to give his family a life rich in experiences both at home and abroad. Upon retiring, Charlie settled in Oxnard, CA.
Charlie met the girl of his dreams, Gloria, in the fifties and they were married in 1958. Gloria preceded Charlie in death in 1987, but he never stopped loving her. He leaves behind two sons (Chuck and Mark), and two daughters (Kathleen and Denise). He also has three grandsons (Chris, Peter, and Patrick).
Charlie will be remembered for his jovial spirit, warmth and the boundless joy he brought to all he met. He was a mischievous little boy that never lost his sense of humor as he grew up. His legacy will live on in countless memories of times spent with his family and friends. He requested that there be no funeral service, so his family asks that next time you have a drink, make it a Mai Tai (his favorite) and raise your glass in a toast to Charlie. He would have wanted it that way.
