Benny always had a smile no matter what he was doing. I had the pleasure of spending time with him while fishing, catching waves at c-street or bumping into him and Little Ben around town. When my roof leaked and we had to rip a bunch of walls out Benny showed up to do my drywall after a long days work for free. My best memories are just having him around, or passing by his place and saying- Benny’s home. I’m gonna miss you Brotha and I hope you know how much you meant to all of us.
When we were little Benny would teach us cousins how to boogie board and push us into the waves. There was a time me and Benny became roommates after my husband died, and every Friday after work we would go to Red Lobster and eat oysters. He had this Red Chevy s10 at the time that always had a surf board in the back. We always had the best time! We would always talk in British accents to one another. He would call me “Buffy” and I would call him “Nigel” And we would just crack up. I’ll miss you Benny, you will always be in my heart.
