As a sales person up front working in the auto center with Alex you could always count on him being through with his work . He took his work seriously! He was a professional! He came from the school of Mel Umberger "Check your work always" On the lighter side of Al he was always ready to play a joke. He picked on the new guys that hired on recently, especially if he liked them. Oh boy his "Hot Sauce" was always a laugh. He'd get one of the new guys to try it . What a sight, tears would flow . So Hot! Of course he would continue using it himself with no sign of a problem. Loved his mom's tamales' ,they so good. I'd always buy a doz. What a cook he was, some of the meals he'd tell me about, YUM! Not a big talker, pretty quiet actually. But what he did say was usually important, profound, and could be incredibly hilarious. Enjoyed hearing about his family camping trips to near by lakes for fishing. And yes wearing the same pair of underwear for days! He LOVED his family. You could see that , they meant a lot to him. He loved his house an garden. Told me many times about his tomato's or peppers . He was a great friend to all. I personally miss those days & eve. at Sears Oxnard . It truly felt like a big disjointed family. We all cared about each other and our lives . I miss you Alex, Thank you for being my friend!
