Winona Lilinoe Hill's Obituary
Winona Lilinoe (Wright) Hill of Oxnard (formerly) from Honolulu, Hawaii (Oahu), town of Papakolea, above the military cemetery Punchbowl. She passed away on March 8th from a chronic illness and lived in her home on her own. She was 85 years old. Her life began in Papakolea, Honolulu, Hawaii, on November 19th, 1939, and was called home to be with the Lord on March 8th, 2025. She married the love of her life, Wilbert Hill, on June 9, 1967, and remained married for 50 years, until his passing on March 10, 2018.During her lifetime, she enjoyed her childhood in Hawaii and had beautiful and loving memories. She was a wife, mother, loving grandmother, and great-grandmother. She also enjoyed Oxnard, where she made her second home.Winona was preceded in life by her husband, her oldest son, and her parents. Her youngest son is also deceased.Winona enjoyed all the sports she was active in throughout her life as a child and as a grown-up. In Oxnard, she learned to play tennis, racquetball, bowl, and enjoy the competitions and people she met, most of all. She also did aerobics, and her first love was swimming, a passion she carried throughout her life.Winona is survived by her daughter (adopted at 8 months), five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren in Hawaii. She will be buried at sea at Waikiki beach in Honolulu, which is where she learned to swim and throughout her life enjoyed it, and always went back home on vacations just to swim there.To all her friends and acquaintances, she met along the way in her own words, "Enjoy in life what is dear and means the most to you. At the end, that's what will count when you come home to our Father. It's not a sad thing because we will all meet and be together again in Heaven. I wish all of you a continued life of love, fun, and enjoyment to the fullest before I see you again."Celebration of Life Saturday, May 17, 2025, 1-5 pm.
