Thomas Dee Gibson's Obituary
Thomas Dee Gibson was born July 16, 1928, in Porterville, California, to Alta Hughey-Gibson and Melvin Gibson. He passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, surrounded by family and love.
Tom was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 75 years, Evelyn; his parents; his eldest brother Mel; his grandsons, Chad and Brandon; and his great-grandson Anthony.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Danny (Anne), Eddie (Starlette), and Lonny (Lori); as well as a large and loving family of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Tom lived a full and beautiful life-one rich with adventure, laughter, and love. He and Evelyn shared countless memories, traveling cross-country on their motorcycle, building a home filled with warmth, respect and devotion. Tom’s laughter was contagious; if he was laughing everyone around him was too. He loved to dance, to move, to boogie like no other.
A hardworking man, Tom dedicated many years to Southern California Edison before retiring. He cherished his family above all else and found joy in simple pleasures-especially a good round of golf and time spent with those he loved.
Tom was the heart of his family-their patriarch, their example. He taught his sons to be strong, loving husbands and devoted fathers. He showed us all what integrity, generosity, and kindness look like in everyday life.
His legacy lives on in the countless memories he gave us-river rafting on the Colorado, motorcycle rides on the Goldwing, camping in the snow, and every shared laugh along the way. Through his life, Tom taught us how to love deeply, to cherish our families and to embrace life with joy and gratitude.
Our family has lost its patriarch, but we have gained a lifetime of love, lessons, and beautiful memories because of Tom and his beautiful bride Evelyn.
Services will be held on November 6th at 10:00 a.m. at Ivy Lawn Cemetery
