Terry Raymond Holts' Obituary
It is with sadness that the the family of Terry Holts announces his peaceful passing on December 22, 2025, in Simi Valley, CA. At the age of 92. Born in 1933 in Ventura California, to Raymond and Frances Holts, he enjoyed a full and active life.
Terry grew up in Santa Paula, the eldest of three children. He graduated from Santa Paula High School and was a CIF championship football player. He continued his education at Ventura College where he met and married his wife of 60 years, Bonnie Simon. After graduation, he joined the army and was stationed in Germany. Upon discharge, he attended San Diego State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Education.
Terry and Bonnie moved to Ventura in 1959 where they raised their two children, Lynda and Dean. Terry worked as a biology teacher at Buena High School for many years. After receiving his master’s degree at San Fernando Valley College (now CSUN), he became a school administrator at De Anza Middle School and retired from the Ventura County School District as the principal of Cabrillo Middle School. He was also a part time math teacher at Ventura College night school until he retired at the age of 80. Terry truly enjoyed interacting with young people and sharing the wisdom he had gathered over the years.
Terry was an active member of the Masonic Order and the Order of the Eastern Star. He volunteered with Casa of Ventura County for Foster Children and was very involved with Seaward Avenue Church and community outreach.
He is survived by his brothers; Philip and David, children; Lynda (Louis) and Dean, and granddaughter Laura (Douglas).
A memorial service will take place at Ivy Lawn Funeral Home, 1075 E. Daily Dr., Camarillo, CA 93010, on February 28, 2026 at 10am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinsons Research, https”//tribute.michaeljfox.org/tribute-page.php?id=3442&np=true.
