Stuart Howard Taylor's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Stuart Howard Taylor (Stu), 65 on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 in Oxnard, California.
Stuart was born on September 1, 1959 in Oxnard, California. He was the youngest of four children of the late Ned and Catharine Taylor. He was a loving son, brother, and uncle. Stuart graduated from Rio Mesa High School in 1978, and later joined the U. S. Navy. As a proud veteran who served with honor for 4 years during the Cold War, he worked as a Craftsman on the U.S.S. Guadalcanal traveling the world during his 3 Mediterranean military tours. Stuart suffered with mental health challenges, and remained in the loving care of his family throughout his life. He attended several local churches in Oxnard over the years. His hobbies included gymnastics, playing trombone, reading and studying the bible, memorizing verses, poems, jokes and other interesting facts. He loved walking the neighborhoods and along the beach sharing his faith in God in his unique ways. Stuart's gentle soul and kind heart left him frequently smiling and laughing at the simple things in life. He was diagnosed with vascular dementia, which eventually took his life. Stuart will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother Ned and Catharine Taylor. Surviving family are his brother Clifton Taylor of Port Hueneme, CA; Keith Taylor (PalMyra) of Ham Lake, MN; sister Denise Gardner-Howard (Wayne) of Acworth, GA, and 5 nephews and 1 niece.
