Pablo Ramirez Padre's Obituary
On April 15, 2025, with family by his side, our Lord called our beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather to heaven.
Pablo Ramirez Padre was born on January 15, 1937 to Lorenzo and Rufina Padre in Taleb, Bantay, Ilocus Sur, Philippines along with his sister. After the passing of his mother when he was a young child, his father remarried, and he was raised by his stepmother Veronica, the only mother he knew. Pablo was a devoted family man where his love for family was only surpassed by his devotion to his Lord, and a longing to join the priesthood. At the urging of his father and as the eldest of eight children, he unselfishly began working in the rice and tobacco fields to help support his family. In 1960, he was sponsored by his uncle and immigrated to the United States to Madera, California where he worked the grape orchards sending money back home. While working, Pablo also attended and graduated from Madera High School. He worked tirelessly to bring his parents and siblings stateside in 1969, at which time they all settled in Camarillo.
Pablo returned to the Philippines in 1972, marrying Aurora Fernandez and bringing her to the US where they started a family, welcoming two daughters. He had a strong Catholic faith that served as his foundation that carried him through his life. He was a loving husband, father, and provider where he supported his family as a forklift operator for Westland Plastics and then Clairol. After a day's work, he would often come home and tend to his garden growing a variety of vegetables which he generously shared with others. He was a humble man, finding ways to repurpose items such as recycling worn clothes into twine for his garden and living modestly. With his daughters, he was very much the disciplinarian, wanting them to focus on school. He put his girls through college, and we are forever indebted to him for his sacrifices.
His pastimes included cheering for the Lakers and Dodgers, playing his organ, guitar, and harmonica, and storytelling. In retirement, his greatest happiness was doting on his grandsons where he faithfully cared for them as a full-time Papa, making their meals, singing to them, and taking them to and from school when they got older.
In the last few years, he suffered from many ailments that caused him much pain. His loving wife made special meals and patiently comforted and cared for him. We will miss him dearly, taking solace in knowing that he is no longer suffering and now in heaven.
Pablo was preceded in death by his mother, father, stepmother Veronica Padre, sister Linda Johnson, and brother Rogelio. He is survived by his adoring wife of 53 years Aurora, daughters Jennifer (Miguel) Orozco and Jocelyn (David) Caldino, grandsons David "Boysan" and Jared; sisters Eugenia Rapisura, Jean (Tony) Aurelio, Patty (Romeo) Balanga; brothers Vic (Lily), Danilo (Jeanne); and numerous nieces and nephews and their children.
