Olivia Estelle Lopez's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce that our beautiful and beloved Mother/Grandmother/Great-Grandmother/Great-Great Grandmother has gained her angel wings.
Surrounded by her loving family, Mrs. Olivia Estelle Lopez of Camarillo peacefully went home to her lord on October 21, 2025.
Olivia was a woman of extraordinary beauty, kindness, courage, and generosity, who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a source of inspiration with her elegance, strength, dignity, intelligence, and wonderful sense of humor. Her strong values, and dedication to her family, even in the face of life's challenges, was a testament to her character.
Olivia was born in Simi Valley, California and grew up in Ventura County. She learned the importance of hard work and family values from her parents John and Mary Olguin. She attended grammar school in Oxnard and graduated from Oxnard High School. Shortly thereafter she met the love of her life, Gilbert V. Lopez and their love story lasted 60 years until 2009 when he sadly preceded her in death. The love story continued as Olivia would faithfully visit Gilbert on a weekly basis to provide him a bouquet of flowers and a prayer.
Together they were blessed with four children, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. All of whom adored and cherished them.
Olivia’s greatest joy and purpose was caring for and spending time with her family whether it be cooking and baking together, vacationing, shopping, or simply offering a shoulder to cry on. Olivia showed her children and grandchildren such love and support with her generosity and always being present and taking an active interest in all their activities. Olivia never missed a theatre performance, baseball or softball game, football game, soccer game, bowling tournament, tennis match, ballet or dance lesson. Olivia instilled in her children and grandchildren a strong sense of faith, integrity, honesty, dependability, and tradition along with her legacy of authentic unconditional love will live on through them.
Olivia was beautiful, vibrant, and energetic She had many hobbies and passions and lived life to the fullest. Even at her advanced age she was strong, sharp, and fully independent in every way. She loved keeping up with, and enjoyed using the newest technology. She was a wiz with her iPhone and iPad, always sending her children and grandchildren inspiring photos, notes, comics, interesting articles and heart emojis to brighten their days and to make sure all were aware of the current events. She also enjoyed social media and never missed watching Sunday mass on Facebook live, always engaging with a thank you comment to the priest and choir. Olivia loved sports and never missed a Dodger game. Her favorite player was Mookie Betts. She knew every player’s name, number, and position. She even knew the batting order. We will cherish the time we spent watching the dodger games together. Olivia was a talented crafter, who enjoyed making beautiful floral arrangements and handmade rosaries that she gifted to those she loved. Olivia loved photography and had the best poses and enjoyed taking photos and displaying her work. She also loved keeping up with current events and read the newspaper every morning. Olivia also had a love for animals and was especially fond of her backyard wild birds. She would feed the birds daily, provided bird baths and had a name for each one.
Olivia was a lifelong dedicated homemaker but still made time to give back by volunteering at St. John’s hospital, the PTA, baseball and softball scorekeeper, sports team Mom, and St. Mary Magdalen Church rosary makers. Olivia also volunteered at St. Bonaventure High School theatre making costumes and crafting special treats to send back stage as well as volunteering at Bingo nights in support of her grand-daughter Olivia Patrick.
Olivia took pride in everything she did and it showed in every way from her outward beauty and elegant fashion sense to her immaculate home that was always filled with warmth and laughter. Olivia was truly beautiful inside and out. Her aura glowed like an angel and she touched countless lives with her gentle smile and generous spirit.
Olivia was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Olguin; her loving husband, Gilbert V Lopez, her beloved sons, Richard Gilbert Lopez, and Michael Joseph Lopez, and her sweet pup AngelLu.
