Mark Dee Meyer, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on May 14, 2024. He was born to Charles and Joy Meyer on November 4, 1963, in Ventura, California. Mark's journey began in Ventura, but his impact rippled far beyond, touching the lives of many with his kindness, generosity, and love.Mark's formative years were spent in Springfield, Missouri, where he attended Kickapoo High School. In school, he excelled both academically and athletically, particularly shining on the Baseball and Swim Teams. His dedication and passion were evident in everything he pursued.After graduating, Mark pursued higher education at the University of Oklahoma, where he earned his business degree. Following his college years, he returned to his hometown of Ventura, where he embarked on the next chapter of his life.In 1990, Mark married the love of his life, Loretta, and together they built a beautiful family and a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Mark was a devoted father to Zachary, Logan, Luke, Samantha (Chris Bengston), Marki, Tatum, Cole, Charli, and Brody. His role as a grandfather brought him immense joy, doting on his granddaughters Kollyns and Payton.Mark's presence brightened any gathering, whether cheering on his children at sporting events, enjoying a movie at the theater, or hosting legendary barbecue gatherings that brought friends and family together. He found true happiness in the simple moments spent with loved ones and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.Mark is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Joy and Charles Meyer. He is survived by his adoring wife, Loretta, his children, grandchildren, sisters Jana (Alan Fletcher) and Beverly (Mark McGaughey), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends whose lives were enriched by his presence.To honor and celebrate Mark's remarkable life, a gathering will be held at the Meyer House on June 1, 2024, at 3:00 pm. It will be a time to reminisce, share stories, and pay tribute to a man whose kindness and warmth touched the hearts of all who knew him. Mark's legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
