Marcia Livingston Donlon's Obituary
Marcia Livingston Donlon passed away March 4, 2025, peacefully at the age of 91 with her loving family by her side. She left this world with as much grace as she lived her life.
Marcia was born July 9, 1933, to Robert S. and Mayre Daily Livingston in Oxnard, where she grew up. She graduated high school from the Academy of St. Catherine's in Ventura and attended the University of Arizona.
Her proudest and greatest roles were that of extraordinary wife, mother, mother-in-law, nana, nana-great and friend to many.
Marcia was preceded in death by her adored husband of 55 years, David Justin Donlon, her parents, her sister, Ann Livingston Laycock, her twin brother, Robert Livingston, and two of her grandchildren, Patrick and Molly Colbert.
Together with David, Marcia had seven children that she leaves behind: Jane Donlon Waters (Edward), Anne Donlon, Paul Donlon, Mary Donlon, Kathleen Donlon O'Brien (Michael), Sara Donlon Nelson (Mark), and Peter Donlon (Kimberley). She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Margaret Waters Early (Alex), Edward Waters, David Waters (Jillian Lake), Caroline and Justin Colbert, Hilary Donlon Thorpe (Jeremiah), Lennox and Stuart Donlon, Kathleen and Justin Paul Nelson, Jessie Donlon Calloway (William) and James Donlon (Christina), and her 9 great-grands.
Marcia was adored by her family who will miss her beyond measure. They will forever cherish the family she created; her spunk, laughter, and competitive spirit; her endless talent for hosting family gatherings and holidays, and her hilarious stories of growing up. She loved to play cards, garden, spend time with family and friends, and attend daily and Sunday Mass.
Marcia's family extends their heartfelt gratitude and thanks to her wonderful caregivers: Betty, Ruth, Elsa, Levy, Rosa, and Yolanda, as well as the Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Hospice team who compassionately guided Marcia's care in her final days.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 11th at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Camarillo. A reception to celebrate Marcia's beautiful life will follow at 12 p.m. at the Las Posas Country Club.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Association named in honor of Marcia's grandfather, Dr. William R. Livingston.
