Lorraine Sanchez's Obituary
Lorraine Sanchez was born on November 22,1961, to Alfred and Anita Carmona at St. John's hospital in Oxnard, California. She was a lifelong resident of Oxnard until her passing from a chronic illness at St. John's regional medical center.She spent 17 years of her life working at Gospel Lighthouse Publishing Co. As a sales consultant until she retired to be a homemaker.Lorraine attended 12 years of catholic school. She attended St. Anthony's grammar school and graduated from Santa Clara High School in 1980.At the age of 18 years of age, Lorrie surrendered her heart and life to the servitude of the lord Jesus Christ. She was baptized in the precious name of Jesus Christ by Bro. Robert Ramirez according to the book of acts.Lorrie attended the apostolic church in the faith of Christ Jesus church in El Rio for many years. Her ministries consisted of children's ministries, Sunday school, and vacation bible school. She continued to teach her son Matthew bible studies in the home.She was a devoted wife and mother and on October 10, 1981, Lorrie married the love of her life Larry Sanchez. They had 3 children. James, Melissa, and Matthew.Lorrie loved to cook, and her specialty was enchiladas and Spanish rice. She was also a talented crafter and made beautiful & detailed wreaths for family and friends. She loved animals, especially dogs and had a few throughout her lifetime. Peanuts, Casper and Kobe Bryant. She would often train them to do special tricks for treats.During her last days in the hospital, I would hear her praying and reciting scriptures aloud and talking with her creator. We would often hear her reciting the 23rd psalm.Lorraine went home to be with the lord on Thursday October 24, 2024, at the age of 63 after a courageous battle with her health. She is survived by her husband of 42 years Larry Sanchez, and their three children James, Melissa and Matthew. Father Alfred S. Carmona(deceased), Mother Anita J. Carmona. Three sisters; Rosanna Romero (Armando), Mary Evelyn Rodrick, Julie R McMurray (Charles "Chuck" preceded in death), numerous sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, cousins, and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed for her zest for life, loving kindness to family and friends. Special thanks to Dr Richard Rothschild for being a strong advocate with compassion and caring for our dear loved one.A celebration of life services will be on Friday November 15, 2024, at 11am at the United Pentecostal Church of Oxnard, 700 E. Pleasant Valley Road, Oxnard CA 93033. Burial to follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine road, Ventura, CA 93003
