Ledlie Jean Corse's Obituary
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ledlie Jean Corse, age 86, on January 7, 2026. After a years-long battle with Alzheimer’s disease, Ledlie passed away peacefully at home.
Ledlie was born in Taft, CA on February 19, 1939, and raised in Bakersfield. She was one of 6 children born to her father Robert Fowler and her mother Barbara. After her father was tragically killed in an auto accident, her mother remarried Bill Cordes and had 4 more children. On May 2, 1958, Ledlie married Alvin Corse. They had five children, Kevin, Tyler, Ann, Kathy, and Ted. They were married for 66 years until Al’s death in 2024. They loved each other dearly and enjoyed many years of travel, including multiple cross country road trips and trips to Europe.
Ledlie was a bilingual paralegal as well as a talented artist. Ledlie enjoyed art time with her friends in any form. She preferred acrylics and watercolors, but also sketched in charcoal and pencil. Ledlie was a devoted mother, grandmother to 17 and great grandmother to 14 who will all miss her dearly. Her zest for life and beaming smile left a deep imprint on all who knew her.
Funeral service will take place on January 31, 2026 at Ivy Lawn Cemetery at 11am. Reception to follow at 1 to 4pm at the Poinsettia Pavilion.
