Jackie Alison Rasmussen's Obituary
Our beloved Jackie Rasmussen, was born on March 22, 1935 in New York. Her older brother Nick was born in February 1932 and half-sister Anne, was born in July 1943.Jackie, Nick and Anne grew up in their parent's home Bob and Alys Lamb in Alameda, California.Nick, Jackie and Anne went to College at the University of California at Berkeley. In College, Jackie met Edward Bacciocco another student in her Class. Their friendship grew and they fell in love and were married after their undergraduate degree's were completed.After Ed & Jackie were married they moved to Ross, California and purchased a home. Soon after their purchase Jackie became pregnant and gave birth to a girl, Tia.When Tia was five years old, Edward and Jackie divorced.Jackie, then pursued work in Lake Tahoe and was hired at Harrah's to work in the finance department. She and Tia found a home on the South Shore close to her good friends Jeanie & Gloria. Jackie and Tia resided in Lake Tahoe for two years, then they moved to Alameda, California where Jackie's parents, Bob and Alys Lamb lived. Jackie soon found work in Oakland with American President Lines as a Computer Analyst.Tia was cared for by Alys during the week days while Tia went to school. Jackie, worked hard and came home to make dinner and hear about Tia's day. After renting for a few years, Jackie purchased a Condominium in Alameda on Bay Farm Island which was close to Alys and Bob.Before Tia left for college, Jackie met Paul Rasmussen at the new Tennis Club on Bay Farm Island. They loved golf and tennis and made close friendships there. Eventually they married. After retiring they sailed for 6 months on their 44ft Peterson Boat to the Sea of Cortez. Subsequently, they sold their home in Alameda and moved to La Quinta Country Club in Southern California. In La Quinta, they enjoyed their retirement and acquired a treasured Golden Doodle dog named Rusty.After many years, due to medical problems, Jackie and Paul moved to an Assisted Living Facility in Ventura, California.Jackie, had a stroke in the beginning of August, 2024 and she required emergency care at Dignity Hospital.After being released from the hospital Jackie returned to Brookhaven Board & Care. She let her family know the best she could how much she loved them the last two weeks of her life.Paul's oldest son Eric found Paul an excellent Care facility near Menlo Park California, where Eric lives.As a mother, Jackie loved faithfully, was very caring and generous with her daughter, family and closest friends. She worked full time and did all she could to care for Tia.Jackie, is survived by husband Paul Rasmussen, her daughter Tia Tice (Timothy), Grand Children - Joshua Tice (Jessica), Lindsey Fitzemeyer (Matthew) and Whitney Tice, Half-sister Anne, Sister-in-law Becky and their children. All of her family, loved Jackie very much.Jackie, believed in the Lord Jesus Christ and became a Christian later in life. She is now with her Lord & Savior.
