Gerald Marvin Maugeri's Obituary
Gerald Marvin Maugeri Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 6, 2025, at the age of 88, surrounded by his beloved son. Born in Los Angeles, California, on January 9, 1937, Gerald lived a life full of quiet strength, curiosity, and deep love for his family and the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Sandra Lee Maugeri, with whom he shared many wonderful years.
Gerald is survived by his devoted son, Gerald Marvin Maugeri Jr., and daughter-in-law, Wendy. He was a proud grandfather to Joseph, Blake, and Travis, and a loving great-grandfather to Lilly, Caspur, and Brixley.
Gerald's work ethic and mechanical mind were evident early in life. He began working at Athearn Model Trains as a boy and later became a skilled tool and die machinist at Mutual Engineering. After relocating to Ojai, he continued his career at ITI Industrial Tool, where he remained dedicated to his craft.
Outside of work, Gerald had a passion for adventure. He loved fishing, hunting, motorcycle riding, camping, and off-roading-always eager to be outside, exploring, and sharing his enthusiasm with those around him.
A graveside service will be held at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park,5400 Valentine Rd, Ventura, CA 93003,at 11:00 AM on July 17.
A celebration of life will follow at Grandpa Gerald's home in Ojai, where family and friends are warmly invited to gather, share memories, and honor his life.
Gerald will be remembered for his steady presence, his loyalty to family, and the quiet joy he found in the simple pleasures of life.
