Fredrick Paul Brown Jr.'s Obituary
It is with great sadness, that we announce our Fredrick, age 70, slipped peacefully into heavenly bliss on January 18th with his beloved family at his side, at Shoreline Care Center, in Oxnard.
He was born in Oxnard CA, to parents Josie Padilla and Fred Brown Sr. Rick’s favorite pastimes included researching history, astronomy, writing, watching classic movies and MeTV. In the past he favored exploring the newest restaurants with Stepmother Frances and Dad. His favorite thing was riding as passenger with his father Fred, traveling anywhere with him in his Dodge Ram truck. He loved going anytime to visit with his aunts (Tia’s), he always had a special affection for each of his many aunts. He liked sharing delicious meals with relatives and friends. And when able he enjoyed going to the movie theatre with sister Sue and Dad. He was a loyal 60 year “Trekkie” (Star Trek fan). He will be dearly missed.
Preceded in death by his loving mother Josie Brown, stepbrother Carsten Barrios, and Stepmother Frances V. Brown. Including his beloved heroic cat, “Ninja”.
He is survived by his devoted father, Fred Brown Sr., sisters, Mary Anne, Suzan, and Judie. Stepsisters, Linda, Theresa, Christine and Stepbrothers Richard and Robert. And will be lovingly remembered by his extended families of the Padilla’s, Brown’s and Barrios’.
Services will be held at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park inside the Mausoleum, 5400 Valentine Rd., Ventura, on Friday, February 20th, at 10 A.M. Followed by a dedication at his grave site. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bishop Escobar presiding and Kent Johnson will conduct services. A luncheon for family and friends will follow at the LDS Chapel, 3301 West Gonzales Road, Oxnard. 12 p.m. - 3 p.m. Serving at 12:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that maybe you can do one act of kindness in his memory, or you may donate to a charity of your choice in his name. We thank you.
Fredrick’s care was complex and difficult at times. We send our gratitude to the following for all of their compassionate care. The entire staff at The Shoreline Care Center in Oxnard, for their supportive care these past 2 years. Thank you to DaVita Dialysis on Raiders Way, St. John’s Regional Medical Center’s doctors, nurses and admin staff, Ventura Transit, and Dr. Preston Arndt for many years of care. Our sincere thank you to the LDS Church in Oxnard for conducting the service and also offering our family a location to host our reception at, along with their volunteers help. Also, our gratitude to the Ivy Lawn staff, especially, Spencer and Brittany, for their utmost care with the important details and the handling of our loved one. U
