Elenore Pauline Roque's Obituary
Elenore Pauline Roque was born on July 23, 1935, and went home to be with the Lord on May 6, 2025. She was 89 years old.She is preceded in death by her mother Blanche Callaway, father Patrick Welish, and her only sibling Sara Sanchez.Born in Santa Cruz, CA, and raised in Calexico CA, she met Joe Roque on a blind date in Los Angeles, CA. They were married in 1958 and moved to Oxnard, CA because of his work. They had four children and were married for 67 years.Pauline is survived by her husband Joe S. Roque, and children Denise Vollmert, Karen Diaz (Dennis), Joseph Roque (Maryann),Nadine Zaragoza (Alex), eleven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and two nieces.She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, friend, and minister of God. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.Pauline received Jesus Christ as her personal Savior in the 1970's by watching a local Christian TV program. She was given a Bible by her neighbor and began attending Bible Studies. After receiving Jesus and the Holy Spirit her life was never the same again.Pauline was an active part of the beginning of Love International Ministries with Lydia Taylor who became her pastor. She was a powerful prayer warrior and a worshipper who loved to sing songs of praise to the Lord in Spanish.Known by many as 'Sister Pauline' or 'Mrs. Roque', she would avidly share the love of Jesus and talk about His gift of salvation wherever she went. She ministered to countless people as a chaplain in Ventura County jail ministry for over 30 years, was an assistant pastor at Love International, and was an evangelist who had her 'pulpit' in grocery stores and other public places. Her love for God and people overflowed as she willingly gave an encouraging word with a beautiful smile. It seemed like everybody knew her!The life of Elenore Pauline Roque impacted the lives of many people for Jesus Christ. She will be greatly missed, but her love and passionate heart will continue to inspire all who knew her. She is now in heaven rejoicing and receiving her eternal rewards from Jesus, as He says to her, "Well done, My good and faithful servant."
