Andrea Rose King's Obituary
Andrea King, 83, passed away peacefully at her home on December 8, 2023 with her family by her side. She was born in March 1940 and raised in Bath, ME with her father Victor Pert, mother Alice (Hubert) Pert, brothers Glendon and Lionel Pert, and sister, Sharon (Pert) Griffith.In 1959, she met and married her husband of 41 years William (Bill) King, a Seabee in the U.S. Navy. As a proud navy wife, she accompanied Bill on his naval assignments across the U.S. After numerous household moves, Andrea and her family made their last and final move to Port Hueneme, CA. Upon Bill's retirement from the Navy, they decided to settle in Oxnard, CA and raise their family (after all, who can resist the warm, sunny days of California!)When her children got older, she went to work at Geronimo Janitorial Services and the CEC/Seabee Museum, where she retired in 2005 as the gift shop manager. Not one to sit still, Andrea was always on the go, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandson, hanging out with friends at Anacappuccino after their daily walk, and travelling to visit family and friends. Andrea's family and friends will hold their memories of her close to their hearts and she will be greatly missed.Andrea is survived by her sister Sharon Griffith, children Diane Swinehart (Rick), Denise King, and, William King Jr., grandsons Travis King, Richard Swinehart, and Cody Swinehart, granddaughter Trishia King, great grandson Gabriel King, extended family, Kenna Clemons, Jennifer Rice, Gillian Clemons, and Shane Rice, and favorite neighbors Joey and Becky Gonzales.Andrea was preceded in death by her husband William King Sr., parents Victor and Alice Pert, and brothers Glendon and Lionel Pert.The family would like to acknowledge their gratitude to mom's wonderful caregivers Dana, Luz, and Beverly of Assisted Care for their loving care.Graveside services will be held December 29, 2023 at 2:00pm at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Rd, Ventura, California, where she will be laid to rest next her beloved husband.
